Giorgio Armani’s global clean water initiative Acqua for Life reinforces its commitment to delivering access to water.

This International Women’s Day and far beyond, Giorgio Armani’s global clean water initiative, ACQUA FOR LIFE is committed to continuing and expanding its engagement with communities around the world to deliver universal access to safe drinking water.
Women are disproportionately affected by the water crisis, as they are often responsible for collecting water in many communities and countries. Did you know that every day, women around the world will spend a collective 200 million hours collecting water? The search for water of often a colossal waste of time for women and girls, leaving them with no time for work, school or to care for the family.

Over the last three years, renowned photographer Viviane Sassen has visited both Madagascar and Nepal to capture Acqua for Life projects with its strategic partner WaterAid. From her visits, Viviane Sassen has created a film and photographs that convey the transformative impact that clean water has on the daily lives of local communities. Through the joyful and optimistic lens of the artist, the film and images illustrate the intrinsic connection between water and life.

Looking to the future, Acqua for Life is committed to continually expanding its engagement with communities around the world to deliver universal access to safe drinking water.
